Privacy Policy

This policy explains what UNOMI collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the UNOMI iOS app and this website.

Heads up, Grant: this is a solid, specific starting draft — not legal advice. Have counsel review before you submit to App Review, and make sure every claim here matches what the app actually does.

What we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address, a display name, and an optional profile photo. If you set a home ZIP code or select interests, we store those too. This is what lets us keep your rewards attached to you across devices.

Location

UNOMI asks for location access so it can sort rewards by how close they are to you and show them on a map. We use your location while you're using the app. We do not track you in the background, and we do not build a history of where you've been. If you decline location access, you can still browse rewards — we'll fall back to the ZIP code you've set, or show results unsorted.

Activity in the app

We record which rewards you save, your progress toward each one, and when a reward is redeemed. Businesses you interact with can see that a redemption happened at their location, along with the display name on your account.

Diagnostics

We collect crash reports and basic performance data so we can fix what's broken. These are not linked to your identity.

How we use it

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that make the app work, and only to the extent they need it:

We may also disclose information if we're legally required to, or to protect the safety of our users.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Delete your account and we remove your profile, saved rewards, and reward progress. Aggregated, de-identified data (for example, "this location had 40 redemptions in June") may be retained.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or the CCPA. Email us and we'll honor them.

Children

UNOMI isn't intended for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information, we'll tell you.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we'll update the date at the top and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
